                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 309
                   TREMONT STREET, BEING ON THE NORTHWEST LINE OF
                   TREMONT STREET AT COWART STREET (UNOPENED),
                   FROM R-3 RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO R-4 RESIDENTIAL
                   ZONE.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                A tract of land located at 309 Tremont Street,
                being on the northwest line of Tremont Street at
                Cowart Street (unopened).  Lots 176 and 178, North
                Side Land Company's Amended Subdivision of Lot 1 of
                the Cowart Estate, as shown by plat of record in
                plat book 4, page 47, ROHC; being the property
                described in deed book 4421, page 664, ROHC.  Tax
                Map No. 135E-G-20.
               
               
         from R-3 Residential Zone to R-4 Residential Zone.
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, as
         required by law.
